GREAT DAY
Today started out as a quiet day. We had nothing scheduled until 12:30 a visit to the home of a local Rotarian. To make the most of our free morning some of us decided to walk 1/2 mile to the National Museum Of Zambia. The walk there was an experience. I believe you could buy anything I mean anything from one of the thousands of venders. Need cloths, wigs, mannequin, plethora of vegetables or perhaps a coconut. The photos below will give you a glimpse of what we experienced.
Upon arrival at the Museum we encountered a ceremony marking some sort of agreement between Angola and Zambia. There were many dignitaries in suits giving speeches. For entertainment there were native African Dancers. The Museum itself depicted the history of man(also women) from the earliest fossil evidence from the continent including Zambia. The timeline continues from there to present day.
At noon Godfrey a Rotarian who we met last night had invited all of us to his home at noon time. We didn’t quite know what to expect but thought he might be feeding us lunch. When we arrived we were greeted by several other Rotarians as well as some of Godfrey’s other friends. There was great fellowship followed up with a huge feast.
The day was capped off by a visit to a meeting combining 2 Rotary clubs from Lusaka. This turned out to be lively meeting that showcased the many service projects that they are involved in. Perhaps some of these could be part of an international grant from district 7780.
